Melanie Livingstone

Chief

Melanie Livingstone is the youngest daughter of the Late Hereditary Chief “Sha e’ Lum” Cyril Livingstone and Georgina Livingstone. Melanie is a proud member of the Ts’uu baa-asatx. She is married to Aaron Hamilton and they have three beautiful children. Melanie has been a councillor for Ts’uu baa-asatx since 1998. Melanie has attended North Island College and
Vancouver Island University. She obtains certification in the following: Computerized Accounting, Events Management, and Office Assistant I and II.

Carole Livingstone

Treaty and Referral Office Support

 

Carole Livingstone is a proud member of Ts'ubaa-asatx Nation. Her parents are the late Hereditary Chief Cyril Livingstone and Georgina (Ross) Livingstone. She has been living in the Lake Cowichan area with her family since 1990.

 

Carole is a Councillor for Ts'ubaa-asatx Nation. Her responsibilities include:
 

  • Office duties

  • Treaty/ Land Referrals database and records filing.

  • Assistant in coordination of treaty-related meetings with Community, Chief and Council, and general meetings

  • Responding to referrals as directed by Chief and Council, highlighting traditional uses and activities associated with affected lands.

  • Communication with community re treaty-related issues and Ts'ubaa-asatx Nation specific referrals and interests.

Sherry Livingstone

Community Health Representative/Administrative Support

 

Sherry Livingstone is a member of Ts'ubaa-asatx Nation. Her parents are the late Hereditary Chief Sha e’ Lum Cyril Livingstone and Georgina (Ross) Livingstone.

​

She and her family have been living in Lake Cowichan since 2004, and Sherry started working for Ts'ubaa-asatx Nation around the same time.

​

Her background includes Medical Office Assistant, First Aid, Community, and Human Services receptionist, and secretary. She also has Indian Registry Administrator training.

​

Sherry works as the Community Health Rep/ Admin Assistant/ Indian Registry Administrator at Ts'ubaa-asatx Nation.

 

Her responsibilities also include:

​

  • Water testing and record-keeping with Health Canada

  • Maintaining the membership list

  • Office Assistant

Economic Development Executive Team

The goal of Ts'ubaa-asatx is to provide opportunity, employment and the means to become economically self-sufficient through sustainable economic development. Such development will allow for self-dependence and self-reliance.

Melanie is the CEO of Ts’uu baa-asatx Economic Development, dedicated to achieving economicself-sustainability for our Nation across generations. With over 25 years of experience at Ts’uu baa-asatx, Melanie embodies a proactive and visionary leadership style. Her achievements include winning the Cowichan Lake Citizen of the Year award and the BC First Nations Best Practices Award, highlighting her commitment to excellence and innovation in community development.

Brock Dupont

C.O.O

 

Brock was born and raised in the Cowichan Valley
and lives with his family in Cowichan Bay. He brings
to the team a comprehensive background and
extensive experience in Forestry, Fishing, Aviation, Realestate and
Development, Project management, Sales and Marketing, as well as
business development and related systems. Brock studied at Selkirk
College and UBC Sauder School of Business earning a diploma in
aviation and aerospace as well as a residential trading services license
in real estate.

Aaron Hamilton

General Manager

 

Aaron has been the Operations Manager with Ts'ubaa-asatx Nation since May 2012. He is from the Hupacasath First Nation and lives with his wife, Melanie Livingstone, and their three children in Lake Cowichan.

 

Aaron brings over 20 + years’ experience working with First Nation’s communities, mainly in upper management roles. He holds a BBA with a specialization in Management from Vancouver Island University.

 

His responsibilities with Ts'ubaa-asatx are:
 

  • General Administration

  • Fiscal Policy

  • Personnel / Staff Policy

  • Chief and Council Support

  • Economic Development

  • Education Support

  • Social Development

  • Representation and Advocacy (His main priority is establishing a foundation for youth to generate economic self-sufficiency.)

Chris Scott

Business Advisor

 

Chris was born and raised in West Vancouver. He
graduated from UBC in 1971 with a Bachelor of
Commerce. Chris transitioned to viticulture in
Okanagan Falls and operated his own orchard. He then founded
Okanagan Dried Fruits Ltd. in 1980; his company grew to over 100
employees, and won multiple awards. Chris sold the company in
1996 to Sun Rype and his career shifted to First Nations economic
development; working with Osoyoos Indian Band and Penticton
Indian Band. Currently Chris consults for various First Nation
communities in B.C. and the Yukon. He was a Director of FortisBC and
is a Director of a number of First Nations development corporations.

Russel Harder

C.F.O

 

Russel has over 2 decades of experience working
with First Nation communities which has spanned
a diverse portfolio of responsibilities that include
accounting system implementations, custom reporting to reflect the
unique needs of First Nation communities, budget development and
management, and promotion of best practices in financial management.
As the CFO for Ts’uu baa-asatx, Russel is responsible for managing the
financial systems, reporting and forecasting for the nation.
